2023 Anthropology Day
2023 AAA Anthropology Day
About Anthropology Day
On Thursday, February 16 the American Anthropological Association is celebrating anthropology and anthropologists around the world through the declaration of Anthropology Day.
Anthropology Day is a day for anthropologists to celebrate and participate in their discipline with the public around them. Help us celebrate what anthropology is and what it can achieve by hosting an event in your community, on your campus or in your workplace.
We have a host of resources and ideas to help you get started for your AnthroDay events.
What is Anthropology?
Anthropology is the study of humans, past and present. To understand the full sweep and complexity of cultures across all of human history, anthropology draws and builds upon knowledge from the social and biological sciences as well as the humanities and physical sciences.
