Kent State University's Department of Anthropology invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in cultural anthropology. Special consideration will be given to candidates who have a neural/cognitive-oriented research focus.
The successful candidate will join a growing department with broadly oriented human evolutionary science and excellent ongoing research programs in experimental archaeology, primate neuroendocrine evolution, human brain histomorphology, advanced forensic and quantitative methods, primate and hominid taxonomy, and general biological anthropology.
We seek applicants with a specialization in cultural/social approaches to human cognitive evolution. Potential cooperation with Kent State's new Brain Health Research Institute and the department's collaboration with Kyoto University from a comparative cultural perspective will be available. Salary and startup funds are competitive and commensurate with academic qualifications and prior experience.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Anthropology or related field at the time of hire. The successful candidate will be expected to establish extramurally funded research programs, engage in active research, and exhibit a commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate education by teaching courses in cultural anthropology.
