The Department of Anthropology invites applications from an outstanding scholar for a tenure-track position in Culture and Media. The primary focus of our search is at the tenure track assistant professor level; however, we may consider more senior candidates at the rank of associate professor under exceptional circumstances. The position is to begin September 1, 2020, pending budgetary and administrative approval.
The Department seeks candidates with training in sociocultural and visual anthropology; anthropological research on some dimension of visual or other media compatible with our focus on the ethnography of media; knowledge of the history and theory of ethnographic film including contemporary debates; and a track record in ethnographic documentary production sufficient to teach and supervise students in using non-linear facilities.
