Hiring Salary: $4,144.04 - $5,655.33/Monthly

THIS IS A GRANT-FUNDED POSITION

JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Research Study Coordinator 2 assists the Primary Investigators (PIs) with qualitative data collection across the Mid-South (western Tennessee, eastern Arkansas, and northern Mississippi) and study management for a large industry-sponsored research grant. This position will be responsible for independent data collection, collaborative data analysis with PIs, study participant follow-up, communication with study key personnel, and participation in dissemination of study findings.

Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conducts in-depth interviews, focus groups, and ethnographic fieldwork while ensuring confidentiality and empathy.
  • Documents field observations accurately and manages audio/visual recordings from interviews or site visits.
  • Prepares detailed field notes and manages transcription of audio-recorded interviews while upholding ethical standards.
  • Analyzes complex qualitative data through coding and thematic analysis to identify themes relating to patient experiences, barriers to care, and cultural factors influencing health outcomes.
  • Tracks participant progress throughout the study and ensures compliance with required timelines and study protocols.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to integrate qualitative findings with other research data.
  • Codes participant data to de-identify subjects and maintain master linking files to protect participants' private information.
  • Conducts reminder communications with participants.
  • Disseminate findings through scholarly publications, reports, policy briefs, and presentations targeting both academic audiences and community stakeholders.
  • Provides participants with compensation gift cards upon completion of data collection; disburses and tracks participant incentives.
  • Schedules follow-up appointments as necessary according to study protocols.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Qualifications

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology, Communication, Gender Studies, Psychology, Pubic Health, Sociology, Social Work, or Women's Studies. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

    EXPERIENCE: Two (2) year of experience in public research or related field; OR Master's Degree in lieu of experience. Must have a valid Driver's License with reliable transportation.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
    • Skilled using Microsoft software including Word and Excel.
    • Ability to compile information into report form and collaborate on the production of abstracts and manuscripts.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
    • Excellent organizational skills and persistent follow-through with delegated tasks.
    • Ability to consistently achieve assigned deadlines.
    • Ability to interact with sensitivity and social/cultural competence with people of a wide range of ages and cultures.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone/virtual meeting skills.
    • Ability to coordinate, administer, and follow up on participant appointments.
    • Skilled at using databases.


    WORK SCHEDULE: This position may frequently be required to work weekends and evenings.
