Employment Type:Salaried, Full-Time Compensation: $50,000 - $80,000 depending on experience Benefits: Medical, Vision, Dental, Life (99% of employee medical coverage paid by employer) Flexible Spending Plan offered 401(k) (up to 5% employer matched) Life insurance (100% paid by employer) Supplemental insurance policies offered (short-term disability, cancer, hospitalization) Paid holidays (10 days per year) Paid Time Off (80 hours for Year 1; 120 hours for Year 2; and 160 hours for Year 3), and employees that have been with the company 10 years or more get 5 weeks (200 hours) of PTO Paid Family Leave. New mothers and fathers are eligible for 1 week of paid leave. New mothers are eligible for a short term disability benefit that is paid by the company Professional development stipend ($1,000 per year) Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA) annual renewal payment for Affiliated status
Job Description and Responsibilities:
Direct and manage compliance projects for clients in both the public and private sectors, including multiple simultaneous projects;Prepare proposals and budgets, develop scopes of work, oversee projects and manage field crews;Conduct fieldwork for all phases of archaeological monitoring, survey, evaluation, and data recovery, including projects that may require stays away from home;Conduct analyses, interpret analytical data, and prepare technical reports for all phases of fieldwork;Supervise field staff, including review and editing of technical reports; andContribute to business development and interact with clients in a professional and effective manner.
Qualifications:
A graduate degree in Anthropology or Archaeology The preferred candidate will have at least 3 years experience supervising all phases of archaeological investigation, especially National Register evaluations and mitigation projects, in the Midwest and/or Southeastern United States. Qualification under the Secretary of the Interior Standards (36 CFR 61) in archaeology A demonstrated ability to write clearly and professionally Previous experience writing CRM reports is required Detail oriented, strong organizational skills, and technologically proficient including experience with databases Experience in the preparation of proposals, budgets, and scopes of work Ability to use GPS units and navigate efficiently in remote areas It is imperative that candidates be able to work 8-10 hour days in a variety of field conditions There will be frequent stays away from the office.
