Description
Essential Functions:
- THPO Assistance:
- Assist the THPO in maintaining regulatory compliance and consultation.
- Assist in maintaining the JST Cultural Resources inventory.
- Assist in protecting sacred sites for ceremonial and spiritual practice.
- Assist in public outreach and education programs.
- Assist in repatriation and burial coordination.
- Cultural Resources Management:
- Take a lead role in planning and completing cultural resources projects.
- Coordinate with contracted firms for large-scale field investigations.
- Conduct archaeological monitoring and site visits.
- Collections Management:
- Assist in managing Tribal archaeological, archival, and digital collections.
- Coordinate the accession of collections and oral histories.
- Assist in museum exhibit design and fabrication.
- Assist with grant writing and reporting.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Archaeology or Anthropology.
- One year of experience working with field crews and conducting research.
- Familiarity with regulations and standards related to historic preservation.
- Knowledge and understanding of Jamestown S'Klallam Tribal culture and history.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in field/GIS tools and techniques.
- Experience with inventory, monitoring, and writing research reports.
- Familiarity with museum curation and conservation practices.
- Ability to travel locally and regionally.
- Valid Washington State Driver's License.
- Must pass a criminal background investigation.
