WestLand is Looking to add a full-time Precontact/Prehistoric Principal Investigator to our growing Cultural Resources team in Arizona. This position may be based out of our Tucson or Phoenix offices. You will help to grow and mentor our cultural teams while acting as a technical expert on a wide range of projects.

What will I be doing?
  • Leading and coordinating cultural resources technical research and writing technical reports.
  • Creating and developing proposals including establishing budgets, schedules, and applicable resources.
  • Managing and coordinating archaeological field work (field survey, testing, monitoring, and data recovery excavations).
  • Building and maintaining relationships with agency archaeologists, descendent communities, and museum professionals.
  • Overseeing the processing and cataloging of artifacts and other materials to various repositories specifications.
  • Leading and mentoring teams of cultural resources professionals.

What qualifications are required for this role?
  • A PhD in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field. A master's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field AND additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a PhD.
  • At least four years of CRM supervisory experience in the American Southwest.
  • Must hold an Arizona State Museum Principal Investigator permit or be able to quality for one.
  • Must be an expert in local, state, and federal cultural resources laws and regulations.
  • Experienced in managing fieldwork, analysis, and report production for large cultural resources survey and data recovery projects.
  • Experienced in writing and reviewing technical archaeological reports.

The salary range for this position is $76,000 - $114,000.00 per year.
