Ardurra is seeking a Senior Archaeologist to join our team in Tallahassee, FL!
Primary Purpose
The Senior Archaeologist is a Senior-level position within the Ardurra Cultural Resource Management (CRM) Group that is responsible for many aspects of project management and report production. The Senior Archaeologist has regional specialization (Southeast preferred), a Master's degree, and is a Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA). The Senior Archaeologist will serve as Principal Investigator and maintain responsibility for the scientific quality of the project and deliverables, assess National Register eligibility of archaeological resources, and propose resource management recommendations. Senior Archaeologists may also assist in training and development of junior staff, establishment and refinement of standard operating procedures, and project scoping.

Essential Functions
- Manages assigned projects under the direction of the CRM Group leadership
- Provides daily operational oversight for assigned projects including quality assurance and keeps group leadership informed on progress or issues regularly
- Performs daily QC of data collected in the field
- Assesses NRHP eligibility of archaeological resources
- Develops project specific recommendations for resource management and compliance with cultural resource laws and regulations
- Manages and contributes to production of report deliverables, 1A-32 Permit applications, Florida Master Site File (FMSF) forms, and other associated work products
- May assist with field projects (anticipated to be less than 20% of overall time)
- Works with Field Director to evaluate the performance of field staff and make recommendations for training and development
Education and Experience Requirements
- Master's degree in Anthropology with a demonstrated focus on archaeological investigations pertaining to the U.S. Southeast is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year demonstrating consistent leadership of field crews on projects in the U.S. Southeast.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of professional experience within cultural resource management demonstrating consistent growth in responsibilities.
- Valid driver's license.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience utilizing digital data collection methods, including ESRI ArcGIS Field Maps, during fieldwork.
- Excellent oral and written communication and project management skills.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple field staff and teams.

- Ability to work outdoors in various, sometimes difficult, types of weather for sustained periods of time and walk several miles daily.
- Ability to carry necessary equipment in field (up to 50lbs).
- Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods while in an office environment.
- Ability to make sound decisions, deliver information to crew, manage crew health and safety, and execute other leadership duties while performing physical labor in the field.
