We have an immediate opportunity for Field Archeologists and/or Paleontologists for the greater Ontario, CA area. This is an immediate start opportunity working 10-hour days.
VARIOUS DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)
- Ability to recognize cultural artifacts, human remains, village sites, midden deposits
- Monitor all ground distributing activity including mass grading, grubbing, weed abatement, trenching and any excavation on previously disturbed and undisturbed ground
- Does or oversees field inspections of proposed projects areas
- Perform cultural resources monitoring at construction sites to implement mitigation measures to avoid impacts to cultural resources
- Conduct field surveys
- Can work in extreme weather conditions
- Record data for scientific and compliance purposes using company forms and established field methodology
- Ability to read maps
- Prepare daily progress/monitoring reports as needed by the project
VARIOUS DEGREES & SKILLS
- Bachelors' or Masters' Degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or other related degree
- Two years plus experience with construction monitoring in similar California environments
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations
- Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information
- Proficiency utilizing project tracking software and databases
