The School of Language, Culture, and Society at Oregon State University is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Biocultural Anthropology beginning September 16, 2025. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 9-month, faculty position. The successful candidate will have research expertise in the biocultural determinants and outcomes of health inequalities, a record of externally funded research, evidence of effective teaching online and/or in the classroom, and evident commitment to educational equity, effectiveness, and inclusivity. PhD must be awarded by July 1, 2025 from an accredited college or university in Anthropology or closely related field.

Preferred qualifications include the following:

• Experience conducting research that intersects with at least one of the following: science and technology, health-related technologies, climate change, migration, or  community/traditional/Indigenous health workers.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to collaborate across disciplinary lines with at least one of the following disciplines at OSU; Arts and Humanities, business, Engineering, Computer Science, Environmental Sciences, Public Policy, or Public Health.
• Prior research with a geographic focus on Latinx/Hispanic/ and/or Indigenous communities in North America, Latin America and/or the Caribbean.
• Potential to develop research, work, internship, and/or service-learning opportunities in private and public sectors for undergraduate and/or graduate students.
