ST | 0 Hrs. OT on a Exempt [1099] Contract Contingent Basis located CONUS - Charlotte, NC Across The CONUS Region supporting The FPAC Business Center is a first-of-its-kind organization at USDA, combining the talent of employees from all three FPAC agencies into specialized teams that serve employees and customers across the Farm Service Agency (FSA), the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) and the Risk Management Agency (RMA). This new business approach helps agencies improve operations and efficiency at USDA and boosts support for America's farmers, ranchers and foresters.

Seeking Lead Archaeologist (Historic Emphasis) candidates with relevant Agriculture, Forestry, Fishing, And Hunting Sector Experience (functional and technical area expertise also ideal) to support professional services engagement for Agriculture, Forestry, Fishing, And Hunting Sector Clients such as FPAC. This as a Contract Contingent or Contract W-2 (IRS-1099) Position and ProSidian reserves the right to convert to a Full-Time ProSidian employed W-2 Position.

JOB OVERVIEW

Provide services and support as a Regional Cultural Resources Identification Field Guides (Lead Archaeologist (Historic Emphasis)) in the Agriculture, Forestry, Fishing, And Hunting Industry Sector focussing on Environmental Services Solutions for clients such as United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) | The Farm Production and Conservation Business Center (FPAC) - Environmental Activities Division (ENV) Generally Located In CONUS - Charlotte, NC and across the CONUS Region.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES - Lead Archaeologist (Historic Emphasis) | Cultural Resources Field Guides [FPAC009014]

The Lead Archaeologist (Historic Emphasis) focuses on the identification and documentation of historic cultural resources, including structures, artifacts, and features from more recent periods. This role involves extensive research and analysis to accurately depict historical resources in the field guides, ensuring compliance with relevant cultural resource management regulations. The archaeologist works closely with the Prehistoric Archaeologist and other specialists to provide a comprehensive understanding of cultural resources across different time periods.. Historical Archaeology is defined as a field that emerged in the 1970s, focusing on using archaeological methods and data to complement historical records and provide insights into the past, especially for marginalized groups and individuals.
Qualifications

Education: Master's degree in Anthropology with an emphasis in historical archaeology, meeting Secretary of the Interior qualifications.
