The Department of Environmental Studies at Ashoka University invites applications for one position at the rank of tenure-track Assistant Professor. Selected candidate will be expected to join by January 1 or August 1, 2025.
The successful candidate for the position will have an outstanding research profile, experience teaching undergraduates, and enthusiasm for helping develop and strengthen the environmental studies programme in a liberal arts institution. Candidates should have a PhD in sociology, anthropology, geography, history, or allied social science disciplines. They must have been awarded a PhD by the time of joining.
We welcome applications from scholars with research interests and field sites in India and abroad. The Department includes scholars of the biophysical sciences, humanities and social sciences, and aims to foster quality interdisciplinary scholarship.
The teaching load is generally 2-2, with provision for paid research leave. Ashoka offers attractive terms of remuneration and conditions of work.
