Tower Engineering Professionals is seeking a full-time Archaeologist in our Denver, CO office. The Archaeologist will manage cultural resource projects from start to finish and be able to complete those projects independently. Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in archaeology, anthropology, or closely related field
- 1+ year experience conducting archaeological field surveys
- Valid driver's license and ability to perform field work
- Ability to complete complicated cultural resource projects without supervision and/or assistance from others
- Working knowledge of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and NAGPRA
- Working knowledge of the FCC's Nationwide Programmatic Agreements (NPA and Collo NPA)
- Experience with applying National Register criteria to a variety of cultural resources including above-ground resources
- Familiarity with pre-historic and historic-era archaeology
- Ability to conduct complex analysis/curation of cultural resources
- Experience cooperating and coordinating with State Historic Preservation Offices (SHPOs) and Native American tribes
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite and ArcGIS
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and out-of-town for up to a week at a time
- Complete Phase I and Phase II archaeological survey field work (or "Class III" surveys) for Section 106 compliance
- Prepare and submit FCC Form 620s and 621s for proposed communications tower sites
- Coordinate and correspond with SHPOs and Native American tribes on Section 106 projects
- Manage client projects to include correspondence to clients, problem resolution, and final reports to meet required deadlines
- Manage Archaeologist(s) and/or other cultural resources personnel
- Manage curation laboratory
