JOB SUMMARY
This position will assist the Hamline University Center for Anthropological Services in laboratory and field work associated with archaeology contracts and grant-funded projects.

- Perform archaeological survey and excavation.
- Inventory, catalog, and analyze archaeological material.
- Assist with report production.
- Assist with documentary and archival research.
- Follows all Hamline University policies, procedures and protocols.
- All other duties as requested.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND KEY COMPETENCIES
- Experience with archaeological field and laboratory procedures and terminology.
- Experience performing archaeological field work.
- Ability to work with sensitive and confidential records and data.
- Experience and sensitivity in working with Minnesota Native American communities.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google, and Google Apps.
MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology or related field.
- Archaeological Field School.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Familiarity with the archaeology of Minnesota.
- Experience with artifact identification and analysis.
- Experience completing site forms.
- Experience with artifact illustration or photography.
- Experience writing technical reports.
- Experience with mapping and GIS hardware and software.
REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION
- None required
WORKING CONDITIONS / EQUIPMENT
- Ability to lift at least 40 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Must be in good physical condition and have experience performing outdoor work under a variety of conditions with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work an on-call schedule.
- Ability to travel to on and off campus locations.
- Must be able to work on a computer for extended periods of time.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- This is a part time, non-exempt, grant-funded position.
- This position may require travel within the state and overnight stays near work sites.
