Job Description

Chronicle Heritage is currently seeking an Associate Archaeologist to serve as an Assistant Project Manager, supporting our Nevada projects. The successful applicant will work alongside our existing Office Principals and senior staff to successfully navigate a variety of federal, state, and municipal ordinances for our clients.

Hire Type: Full-time (Salaried)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, normal business hours
Location: Nevada, Remote

The Associate Archaeologist/ Assistant Project Manager will:
  • Ensure clients receive high-quality, on-time deliverables
  • Coordinate with teams conducting both fieldwork
  • Learn to provide technical oversight and interdisciplinary team oversight
  • Provide quality control for all deliverables and ensure compliance with applicable regulations in partnership with senior staff
  • Support interfacing with clients and external stakeholders
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations affecting CRM and general industry trends
  • Demonstrate technical excellence in area of expertise and maintain knowledge of best management practices
  • Help oversee field investigations of proposed project sites to assess or evaluate resources or the potential for resources
  • Maintain existing and new business relationships in collaboration with other senior staff and Office Principals

Required Qualifications
  • Degree in archaeology, anthropology, historic architecture/architectural history, or a closely related field or 3+ years of experience in cultural resources management in Nevada
  • 1+ years of experience preparing a variety of technical reports as a primary or secondary author
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques of CRM and relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of and experience in applying research methods and forming and maintaining internal-team relationships
  • Valid driver's license

  • Professional accreditation
  • Degree in archaeology, anthropology, historic architecture/architectural history, or a closely
  • Ability to partner with several senior staff members on multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a large, multi-disciplinary team and promote and sustain effective working relationships with clients, the public, and other agencies
  • Proficient organizational, schedule, and budget management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

Physical And Mental Requirements And Work Environment
  • Most work is performed primarily in an indoor environment and requires sustained sitting and use of fingers, hands, and arms to operate a computer and perform keyboard entry of data or document preparation (or equivalent with accommodation). Must also be able to operation standard office equipment (phone, copy machine, FAX machine, etc.)
