Join a leading fintech company that's democratizing finance for all.

Robinhood Markets was founded on a simple idea: that our financial markets should be accessible to all. With customers at the heart of our decisions, Robinhood and its subsidiaries and affiliates are lowering barriers and providing greater access to financial information. Together, we are building products and services that help create a financial system everyone can participate in.

With growth as the top priority...

The business is seeking curious, growth-minded thinkers to help shape our vision, structures and systems; playing a key-role as we launch into our ambitious future. If you're invigorated by our mission, values, and drive to change the world - we'd love to have you apply.

About the team + role

Research has been central to our product development and business strategy since the very beginning - and our team continues to grow, along with our user base and product. Working on the research team at Robinhood, you'll help us systematically understand how people interact with financial products and how they think and feel about investing.

The role is located in the following office locations (Menlo Park, CA; New York, NY; or Bellevue, WA) which will align with our in-office working environment. Please connect with your recruiter for more information regarding our in-office philosophy and expectations.

What you'll do

  • Proactively and independently identifying high-impact questions from a product or business perspective
  • Answering those questions with a strong command of qualitative and quantitative methods, using the right method at the right time
  • Planning and leading research end to end, including strategic, foundational, iterative, and evaluative research
  • Representing the voice of the user throughout the whole product development process, working closely with PMs, designers, engineers, and leadership on our newest brokerage offerings.
  • Clearly communicating your research insights for teams to translate research findings to solid product and business impact
  • Contributing to the development of an evidence-driven understanding of Robinhood users and potential users
  • Up-leveling other researchers in advanced trading subject matter and acting as a thought partner to research managers and design leads.

What you bring

  • At least 5 years of qualitative or quantitative research experience; it can either be industry-only, or a combination of industry experience and academic research
  • Background in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Behavioral Economics, Anthropology, Sociology, or similar
  • Proven record of applying your research skills to build product and business impact
  • Strong work ethic, excellent time management and communication skills
  • Must have personal or significant work-related experience and knowledge of advanced trading strategies (e.g. day trading), and experience with usability of desktop trading platforms.
  • Must be skilled at navigating ambiguity through uncharted spaces, especially in 0-to-1 product development.

What we offer

  • Market competitive and pay equity-focused compensation structure
  • 100% paid health insurance for employees with 90% coverage for dependents
  • Annual lifestyle wallet for personal wellness, learning and development, and more!
  • Lifetime maximum benefit for family forming and fertility benefits
  • Dedicated mental health support for employees and eligible dependents
  • Generous time away including company holidays, paid time off, sick time, parental leave, and more!
  • Lively office environment with catered meals, fully stocked kitchens, and geo-specific commuter benefits

At Robinhood, we're looking for people invigorated by our mission, values, and drive to change the world, not just those who simply check off all the boxes.
