Assistant Professor in Medical Anthropology

Job Summary
The Department of Anthropology in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky seeks to fill a tenure-eligible faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in Medical Anthropology. This is a 9-month position in the regular title series with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2024. The successful candidate will have training in cultural anthropology and have a research program centered on Latine/x communities in the United States with a focus on health inequalities and social and/or environmental justice. Latine/x communities is broadly understood to include Afro-descendent and Indigenous communities in diaspora from Latin America and the Caribbean, Mexican American, Chicanx/e, Latinx/e and other communities in the U.S. A Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology with a focus on Medical Anthropology is required. Special attention will be given to applicants who include community engagement, participatory research, or other applied approaches in their research programs.
