Logan Simpson has an immediate opening for a regular full-time Senior Archaeologist / Project Manager to be based out of our Reno, Nevada office.
Responsibilities Include:
- Planning and managing all phases of cultural resources projects including survey, archaeological monitoring, testing and data recovery.
- Interacting with clients and land managers.
- Technical report production.
- Preparing scopes of work and cost estimates.
- Meeting project scope, schedule, and budget obligations.
- Conducting quality control/quality assurance reviews of field data and reports.
- Some administrative duties and office management such as recruiting and hiring temporary staff, supervising and mentoring staff, participating in marketing and business development efforts, and managing Logan Simpson's equipment and fleet in Nevada.
Position Requires:
- Qualifications for permitting as Principal Investigator for multiple Nevada BLM Districts.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Anthropology or closely related field, or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of archaeology consulting or agency experience including 3+ years of supervisory experience.
- 3+ years of archaeology experience in the Great Basin or the Southwest.
- Expert knowledge of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.
- Willingness to conduct fieldwork when needed.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience independently preparing, reviewing, and editing complex technical documents for a full range of cultural resources projects.
- Residence in Reno, Nevada or willingness to relocate to Reno.
- Possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA).
- Meets the Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualification Standards for Archaeology.
- Previous experience preparing cultural resources sections for documents related to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
Compensation:
This is a full-time position paid on a salaried basis between $68,640 to $93,600 annually, depending on experience and education.
