Position Description
The Department of Anthropology at Yale University seeks to hire two tenure-track Assistant Professors in sociocultural anthropology, with an initial five-year appointment beginning July 1, 2025. The successful applicant will have a research and teaching profile that includes the use of ethnographic methodologies to engage issues in contemporary social and/or cultural theory, broadly understood. We seek to hire one colleague who specializes in environmental anthropology (geographic region open) and another colleague for whom topical and geographic areas of specialization are open. We anticipate that successful applicants will complement the department’s existing faculty profile. The teaching expectation is normally four courses per academic year.

Review of applications will begin on September 20, 2024 and continue until the position is filled.
