Overview

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Utah State University seeks a Post-doctoral Research Fellow (Postdoctoral Fellow II) in environmental and/or public archaeology. This is a one year, 12-month, full-time position with the potential for renewal depending on performance and available funds. The successful applicant will support application for external funds, in collaboration with existing faculty, and teach two courses per semester, depending on the applicant's experience and program needs. The appointment will begin August 20, 2024. Review of applications will begin July 18, 2024 and will continue until the position is filled.

Responsibilities

This role will be 50% research and 40% teaching. Special consideration will be given to candidates with expertise in spatial analysis and innovative approaches to data analytics and large-scale data sets.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Anthropology or related field from a CHEA accredited institution or international equivalent.
• The potential for developing and collaborating on external grant proposals
• The potential to teach a GIS course
• Demonstrated ability to live and work legally in the U.S.
• Job offer is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check

Preferred Qualifications:

• A record of interdisciplinary research
