PTI: Introduction to Cultural Anthropology Recitation Instructor

The University of Pittsburgh, Department of Anthropology, invites applications for a Part-Time Instructor to teach four recitations for ANTH 0780 Introduction to Cultural Anthropology. These are to be taught during the Fall term 2024, beginning on August 26, 2024. The job includes attending lectures (two 50-minute lectures per week on Monday/Wednesday, 11-11:50), leading four 50-minute recitations per week (25 students each), plus one weekly TA meeting about 45 minutes long. Other time involved includes grading, holding office hours, and recitation preparation (with many recitation plans prepared by the main instructor of the class).

Candidates must have an MA, PhD, or ABD in Anthropology or a closely related discipline; candidates without a PhD must have previous experience teaching Anthropology courses.
