JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Department of Anthropology at The Pennsylvania State University (https://anth.la.psu.edu/) is seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar to join a collaborative research project investigating the functional and evolutionary significance of postcranial skeletal variation in humans and nonhuman primates. The anticipated start date for the position is as soon as possible. This is a term appointment for one year.
Qualified candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Anthropology or related field, or have completed all requirements of the Ph.D., by the time of appointment.
The ideal candidate for this position should have experience with microCT image processing and analysis, as well as experience with methods used to quantify trabecular and cortical bone structure and 3D geometric morphometrics. Requirements include proficiency with Avizo, ImageJ, or similar software packages, along with Python and R programming.
In addition, successful candidates must either have demonstrated a commitment to building an inclusive, equitable, and diverse campus community, or describe one or more ways they would envision doing so, given the opportunity.
