WestLand is adding an Archaeology Field Team Director to our team! The Field Team Director provides day-to-day support to project leads for all aspects of field personnel deployment throughout the western United States. This includes the scheduling and dispatching of field personnel, booking lodging when necessary, and ensuing that field crews have appropriate safety gear, equipment, & transportation. The Field Team Director may assist project leads with reports and proposal writing and may also assist the Department to coordinate new hires. Finally, the Field Team Director will act as a resource to field personnel with expense and timesheet reporting. This position will be based out of our Tucson office but will provide support to our cultural teams across the west.

What will I be doing?
  • Managing all departmental archaeological (and historic preservation) field crew.
  • Identifying project field personnel needs as directed by project leads.
  • Coordinating advertisements and supporting the screening, hiring & onboarding process.
  • Assigning field team personnel to field or office projects.
  • Coordinating project details and needs such as hotel, field vehicles, general logistics and safety support.
  • Supporting timesheets and expense reporting in coordination with project leads.
  • Assisting project leads with data management, analyses, report preparation, and proposal & budget development.

What qualifications are required for this role?
  • Bachelor's (or graduate) degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, History, or related field.
  • Five years' supervisory experience in a cultural resource management laboratory, office, or field setting.
  • Previous project experience with most aspects of cultural resource management project execution.
  • Ability to foster relationships with a range of diverse employees and offer client support when requested.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and sector-specific software as required.
  • Effective communication and people skills (written and oral).
  • Excellent organizational skills.

The wage range for this position is $27.00 - $36.00/hour.
