The Department of Anthropology at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is seeking to fill a full-time, non-tenure-track Lecturer position in Biological Anthropology starting on August 1, 2024. This position is for one year, with the possibility of renewal contingent upon funding availability, teaching performance, and student demand.  The Knoxville campus of the University of Tennessee is seeking candidates who have the ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University.

 

Candidates for this position should hold a Ph.D. in Anthropology or a related field at the time of appointment, with expertise in forensic anthropology and a strong record of teaching excellence. The teaching responsibilities entail 12 credit hours per semester in biological anthropology. Courses may include Human Osteology, Bioarchaeology, Field Recovery, Forensic Photography, Skeletal Curation, and additional courses of flexible content that serve students in the Anthropology Major-Forensic Science Concentration. Preference will be given to applicants with prior teaching experience in higher education and those with the potential to teach upper-division courses in forensic anthropology. The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time of appointment and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment.
