Albion College invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor in Anthropology for the 2024-2025 academic year. We are especially interested in candidates who will contribute to a campus climate that supports equity, diversity, and belonging.

The teaching load is three courses per semester and includes the possibility of contributing to Albion's core curriculum and interdisciplinary programs. Teaching and research interests related to biological and/or medical anthropology are preferred. In the fall, the successful candidate will teach ANTH 315: Anthropological Theory and two sections of ANTH 105, a four-field introduction to anthropology. In the spring, the teaching load will include ANTH 105, ANTH 242: An Introduction to Biological Anthropology, and an upper-level course in the visitor's area of expertise. A Ph.D.at the time of appointment is desired but not required. Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching is essential.

Position Duration: 9 months per year (mid-August through mid-May)
  • ABD; PhD preferred but not required at time of appointment.
  • Teaching experience preferred
