The Department of Allied Health Sciences, within the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, seeks a full-time (9.5 month) Instructor with expertise in the medical/health humanities. The appointment is scheduled to begin in the Fall 2024 semester and will consist of teaching four courses per semester, primarily at the undergraduate level.
Candidates must have either a Master's Degree or Doctoral degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., D.A., or Sc.D) in a medical humanities-related discipline, with college-level teaching experience in medical/health humanities or a related field. Preference will be given to applicants with experience teaching college-level courses in history of health and medicine, philosophy of medicine, medical anthropology, medical sociology, global health, health equity, literature and medicine, narrative medicine, or science and technology studies.
The successful candidate will primarily teach courses in their areas of expertise but may be called on to teach courses that satisfy the college's universal/general education requirements as needed. They will also be expected to advise students and contribute to the service mission of the department and college.

Required Qualifications
Minimum of a Master's Degree in a medical humanities-related discipline, with college-level teaching experience in medical/health humanities or a related field.

Physical Demands Position Salary Range $50,000 to $55,000; commensurate with experience
