We are searching for an experienced Assistant Professor, Anthropology & Public Health 046595 at our Detroit campus location.

Essential Functions (Job Duties):
We invite applications for a Biocultural Anthropologist to be appointed as a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor beginning in August 2023. The hire will be jointly appointed (50/50) in Anthropology and Public Health, with a tenure home in the Department of Anthropology. This search is one of two concurrent hires in the Department of Anthropology. Topical areas of interest may include but are not limited to: biological and health impacts of poverty or racism; global and/or public health; human adaptations among diverse populations; reproductive health, stress, and environment. Geographic area is open.
Teach two courses per semester.
Supervise undergraduate and graduate students.
Apply for external funding.
Conduct research leading to publications.
Participate on two department committees.
Other duties as assigned.
Unique Duties:
Qualifications:
A PhD in Anthropology, Public Health, or closely related social science discipline is required by the start of the appointment in August 2023.
Candidates whose research expertise complements those of the faculty in the Departments of Anthropology and Public Health and intersects with topics of broad anthropological significance.
Candidates whose scholarship and lived experience advances the university's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
