The Senior Product Designer Partners with product teams to design products that satisfy and exceed customer needs. The Senior Product Designer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Description

As a Senior Design Professional, you will work in a multi-disciplinary team, creating new product or service experiences for consumers that improve health outcomes and help members achieve their best health. You will help evaluate clinical programs, inform design and delivery, and measure success to support ongoing improvement and evolution of member and provider engagement with our clinical programs.

You will be responsible for conducting user research, and delivering actionable insights for primary (generative and evaluative) and secondary/desk research to inform selection, design, and development of clinical programs. This is not solely UX/Usability focused role, but will focus on all aspects of clinical programs experience.

Who We Are

Humana's Clinical Program Implementation team, within the Clinical Strategy organization of the Healthcare Quality Reporting & Improvement (HQRI) business, is focused on designing, developing, and implementing interventions that have measurable effects on the health of our members and the value of our company. This team operates with a mandate to deeply understand the levers of member and provider engagement, and use that understanding to expand access to programs that improve health outcomes. By working in cross-functional teams and relentlessly focusing on the human experience, the Clinical Program Implementation team seeks to deliver on this promise for all our members.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct research studies throughout all the phases of the evaluation, development, and implementation cycle.
  • Develop and maintain a research roadmap that aligns with product priorities and reflects the most pressing needs of the business and its users.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure research is integrated into agile development process and that insights are being used to inform product and design decisions.
  • Identify common themes and areas of opportunity; collaborate with product, clinical, and strategy teams to prioritize these areas for future research and product development.
  • Communicate, advocate for, and socialize actionable insights in a clear and compelling way. Ensure it is relevant to business goals, project objectives, and addresses the needs of users.
  • Support other designers as needed to ensure quality and consistency of deliverables and best practices.
  • Work with product, marketing, behavioral economics, strategy, design, and analytics to establish goals, objectives, and benchmarks for improving the user experience. Measure the impact of design changes on user engagement, retention, and satisfaction.

Use your skills to make an impact

Required Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of related non-academic work experience in a dedicated research role in healthcare or other complex systems.
  • Experience using research tools (e.g., UserZoom, UserTesting, Miro, dscout, Airtable, Dovetail, Qualtrics).
  • Experience using research methodologies to evaluate and understand user experience across an entire service lifecycle. Experience in a range of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies such as user interviews, diary studies, shadowing, usability testing, surveys, etc.
  • BS, MS, or PHD in a research-related discipline (e.g., Human Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Human Factors, Psychology, Anthropology, Cognitive Science)
  • Experience with design thinking and agile environments a plus
  • A portfolio that demonstrates:
  • Expertise using different methods to facilitate generative and evaluative research and develop actionable insights. Types of methods may include ethnography, contextual inquiry, usability tests, benchmarking, surveying, tree tests, card sort, diary studies, concept testing, etc.
  • Your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate research, and make recommendations.
  • Your ability to comprehend the unique needs and pain points of a target audience and how it informs the creation of user-centered solutions.
  • Any relevant metrics or success stories that demonstrate the impact of your work.

Additional Information

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria:
  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay decisions will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$84,600 - $116,300 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
