Position Summary
The Department of Anthropology at Bowdoin College invites applications for an anthropological archaeologist to fill is a full-time, benefits-eligible visiting assistant professor position for the 2024-2025 academic year. The appointment begins July 1, 2024 and is for one year, with a possible renewal for a second year pending review and reappointment. The teaching load is two courses per semester, including "Archaeology and the Human Experience." We are interested in candidates specializing in Indigenous peoples and cultures of the Americas, including the Arctic. A Ph.D. in Anthropology is expected by the date of appointment.
