The individual would be expected to contribute to our cultural anthropology concentration as well as teach a four field Introduction to Anthropology course. While research area is open, we seek an anthropologist who will complement but not duplicate the research areas currently represented by program faculty. Special consideration will be given to candidates who are able to contribute to the College of Charleston’s Race, Equity, and Inclusion initiative and to the Cultural Sustainability Certificate. Successful candidates will have earned a Ph.D. in Anthropology by the time of appointment.

Submit online: letter of application including current and projected research agenda and teaching experience, curriculum vitae, unofficial graduate transcripts (official transcripts will be required for hiring), one representative manuscript, one sample syllabus (upload to “other document”) and contact information for two reference providers who will submit letters of recommendation online if contacted by the search chair. Application deadline is January 5, 2024. Questions regarding the position can be directed to Dr Maureen Hays at haysm@cofc.edu.
