AECOM is seeking a full time Archaeology Laboratory Technician to work in our archaeology laboratory in the Burlington, New Jersey office. Position will be expected to perform all typical laboratory tasks such as washing, marking, collections management, etc., but will be tasked primarily with artifact cataloging in an access database.

Occasional travel for monitoring or other emergency fieldwork may also be required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BA/BS + 2 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Master's degree in archaeology or anthropology (with an archaeology focus).+ 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in an archaeology laboratory setting, with extensive experience in artifact cataloging.
  • Valid Driver's License and must be able to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review.
  • Due to the nature of work, US citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Past experience may lean heavily toward either historical or precontact contexts, but some experience in both is required.
  • Past experience in both should be based in the Eastern United States.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Access or related databases.
  • The ability to become SOI qualified.

Candidates with the following additional experience would be particularly desirable for this position:
  • Field experience in the Eastern United States, preferably in the Mid-Atlantic and/or Northeast.
  • Urban field/lab experience in the Eastern United States.

Additional Information
  • Relocation is not available for this position.
  • Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.

Offered rate of compensation (NJ) locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $56,000 - $59,000.
