Providence is seeking to employ afull-time Senior Archaeologist that will have the ability toconduct Phase I, II, and III Investigations. This role will also provide an opportunity to prepare technical reports and cost estimates.

Do you acquire the following education, knowledge, skills, and abilities?
  • M.A. degree in Archaeology/Anthropology
  • 5 years minimum experience in cultural resources management including Phase I, Phase II and Phase III investigations.
  • Active RPA certification (Register of Professional Archaeologists).
  • Demonstrated technical writing ability.
  • General understanding of Word, Adobe Acrobat, Excel, and common GPS and desktop mapping platforms.
  • Understanding Microsoft Teams is preferred
Can you perform the physical requirements?
  • Ability to travel frequently and on short notice.
  • Ability to walk long distances.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs.
  • Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions and on varied terrain, sometimes for extended periods of time.
Can you execute our essential duties and responsibilities?
  • Conduct fieldwork; reporting focus will be in the southeastern United States.
  • Complete standard archaeological reports and field projects with limited oversight and review.
  • Demonstrate a strong working understanding of cultural resources management work and writing within NHPA and Section 106.
  • Works well with others, anticipate coordination of junior cultural staff, is capable of coordinating directly with PMs, and is receptive to Senior cultural staff QA/QC and oversight as a standard practice.
  • Responsible for monitoring personnel in the field, office, and laboratory, as needed.
  • Assist in the production of proposal scopes and budgets.
  • Ability to travel and complete fieldwork-heavy position with 40-75% in the field.
