Role description:

Arcadis is seeking part time archaeological field technician for upcoming project work in the Western, U.S.

Role accountabilities:
  • Perform archaeological fieldwork for all levels of investigation (Phase I-III), as needed.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks in adverse environmental conditions (e.g., rugged and unfamiliar terrain, remote locations, hot and cold temperatures).
  • The ability to travel to different project locations.
  • The ability to walk and conduct fieldwork for long hours, as well as, carry supplies weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Conduct shovel testing, pedestrian survey, and site documentation.
  • Be able to work under an Archaeological Field Director and work with a crew of field archaeologists

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:
  • Must have completed an archaeological field school or have at least 6 months of archaeological field experience
  • Bachelor's degree in archaeology or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience conducting archaeological fieldwork
  • Knowledge of cultural resources management and archaeological fieldwork

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Possesses a master's degree in anthropology or archaeology.
  • Meets the Secretary of the Interior's standards and qualifications for archaeology.
  • Has field experience in California and/or Nevada.
