Position Summary:Mat-Su College is recruiting qualified applicants for its pool of adjunct instructors in Anthropology. We are seeking applicants who possess a desire to help students succeed in reaching their goals. Mat-Su College is a community campus of the University of Alaska Anchorage. The campus is located in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, the fastest growing region of Alaska. Applicants must be available to work within Alaska during the length of the assignment. Duties:
Adjunct faculty members are responsible for preparing and delivering one or more courses in a manner consistent with approved Course Content Guides. Course content must be appropriate for Student Learning Outcomes and class delivery mode (i.e., face-to-face, online, blended). Adjunct faculty are expected to prepare and submit a syllabus including university policy statements, hold classes and office hours consistent with required contact hours, evaluate student learning, provide feedback and respond to student questions in a timely manner, track and submit student success data, submit final grades prior to registrar's deadlines, and collect student artifacts for assessment. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Candidates will be evaluated on suitability of their graduate-level academic coursework and preparation, past teaching experiences, expertise and experience relevant to the effective teaching of their specific field, and potential for providing high-quality instruction to undergraduate students in assigned courses at Mat-Su College.
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
College-level teaching experience preferred.
REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:
Master's degree in Anthropology required; Doctorate preferred.

Mat-Su College is recruiting qualified applicants for its pool of adjunct instructors in Anthropology. Adjunct instructors are hired on a semester-by-semester appointment. Qualified applicants for this position will be placed into a hiring pool for the academic year of 2022-2023 from which instructors will be hired. Acceptance into the hiring pool does not constitute an offer of an appointment, nor does having worked one semester guarantee that a position will be available the following semester; hiring decisions are made on a semester-by-semester basis (including summer sessions), according to the needs of that semester's schedule.
Mat-Su College is a community campus of the University of Alaska Anchorage. The campus is located on 951 acres in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, the fastest growing region of Alaska. We serve as a major higher education hub for the communities of Wasilla and Palmer. Our student-friendly campus offers small class sizes and state-of-the-art facilities, including paramedic classrooms with a fully equipped ambulance bay, updated science labs, and a new 520-seat performing arts theater, the first in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley. The campus has an annual operating budget of nearly $11,000,000 and employs nearly one hundred full-time faculty and staff and more than fifty adjunct instructors to serve approximately 2,000 students each semester.
