Preferred Experience: Phlebotomy; Spanish bilingual/bicultural
Certification: None required
Abilities: Phlebotomy; safe specimen processing; customer service; basic research procedures
Field: Human Subjects Research
Certification: CITI training within 90 days of hire

Purpose
Assist program coordinators and management by providing participant enrollment support for the All of Us Research Program.
Primary Functions
- Recruit diverse program participants through phone calls, emails, and outreach activities, both on-campus and in the community.
- Obtain informed consent and enroll participants in the All of Us Research Program.
- Obtain participant data (physical measurements, blood pressure) and biospecimens (blood, urine) in accordance with program protocols and in collaboration with other team members.
- Perform data entry, ensuring accuracy and completion.
- Perform phlebotomy, separate serum from cells, process and store samples following a standard protocol using safe technique.
- Follow research protocols and standard operating procedures for arranging appointments, working collaboratively with other departments and institutions, and maintaining contact with program participants.
- Identify problems or obstacles in procedures related to implementation of the research protocols and communicate these to the coordinators.
- Assure personal compliance with all relevant IRB and other regulatory agency requirements, standard operating procedures, and program-related training requirements.
- Assist as needed in the preparation of IRB documents and reports.
- Provide feedback to management and analysis staff regarding the development, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive databases and files related to the program.
- Provide general clerical support to coordinators and managers.
- Select approved brochures, flyers, and educational materials for outreach and participant interactions.
- Assist with special projects, such as mass mailings.
- Daily travel to sites within Southeast Wisconsin that requires driving a program or personal vehicle is required. Mileage for personal vehicle use is reimbursed.
Knowledge - Skills - Abilities
- Knowledge of biology, chemistry, customer service standards, documentation, and records management.
- Phlebotomy skills, data collection, complex problem solving, critical thinking, process improvement, resource management, organization, and attention to detail.
- Understanding of the social and biological determinants of health.
- Familiar with the cultural norms of diverse Milwaukee communities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; Spanish bilingual/bicultural; computer proficiency.
