Position Summary
The Department of Sociology/Anthropology at Dyson College of Arts and Sciences at Pace University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track, Clinical Assistant Professor in Anthropology position to begin September 2023.
Teaching responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Introduction to Anthropology, Global Cultures, Middle East through Film and People and Cultures of the Middle East. The teaching load is four sections per semester, and the contract period is for three years, with possibility of renewal.
Pace University offers a B.A. in Sociology/Anthropology, as well as a minor in Urban Studies. The position is located on Pace University's New York City campus.
Position Qualifications
Applicants should have earned a Ph.D. in Anthropology, with strong commitment to innovative teaching, with an emphasis on urban, national, transnational/global issues, and ethnographic and ethnologic methods.
The ideal candidate will have conducted fieldwork in the Middle East and/or North Africa and will demonstrate ability to translate those fieldwork experiences into the classroom, and will potentially develop civic engagement and experiential learning opportunities into their courses.
