Undergraduate Coordinator-Department of Anthropology

The Opportunity

The Department of Anthropology has an immediate opening for an Undergraduate Coordinator. In this role, you will provide full range administrative support for two undergraduate fields: Anthropology and Archaeology. You will also:
  • Complete course file management, organize course registration and grade submissions, revise and edit the course catalog for both undergraduate and graduate programs in the two distinct units.
  • Maintain database of advisee, major, minor, honors student, and scholarship applicant records.
  • Submit new courses or course changes to EPC.
  • Schedule courses for both the Anthropology Department and the Archaeology Program.
  • Schedule rooms for meetings and events.
  • Maintain several email list serves.
  • Create, edit, and organize online course evaluations.

This is a full-time (39 hours/week) endowed position that is based in Ithaca, NY and completely on-site. Typical work hours are 8am-4:30pm Monday through Friday, but flexibility is available.

What We Need

We are looking for a team member that is student-oriented, flexible, has attention to detail, can successfully multi-task, and is collaborative. Additionally, you will:
  • Have completed formal training beyond HS of 1-2 years of college coursework, or Associates degree required, with 4-6 years of related administrative experience or combined equivalent of education and experience.
  • Have experience interacting with individuals in a professional, diplomatic, and courteous manner providing exceptional customer service.
  • Demonstrate the aptitude to take initiative and be a pro-active team member.
  • Experience working with Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Display the willingness to learn new skills and pass along these skills to others.
  • Anticipate the needs and actions of the department while suggesting ways of being more efficient is expected.
  • Communicate-written, verbally, and listening-in a diplomatic and empathetic manner.

If you possess these experiences this may be the role for you! There are a few other qualifications that we would view as incredibly helpful in this role, to include:
  • Experience using CCI (to input classes), Acalog (Courses of Study), EPC, Data.Arts, Kuali, PeopleSoft, FileMaker, WorkDay, 25L room scheduling, and other software as needed.
