Job Summary
Temporary, part-time adjunct faculty in the Department of Anthropology. Face-to-face and online teaching opportunities may be available in Anthropology.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree or equivalent in Anthropology or at least 18 graduate course hours in Anthropology, or an MA in a related discipline with experience conducting Anthropological research and/or at least two years of work experience directly related to the Anthropological courses they will teach. Commitment to quality instruction at the college level is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
Doctorate in a discipline appropriate to the one in which the candidate wishes to teach. Past record of successful college-level teaching experience in the discipline of employment. For online teaching, one or more semesters' worth of online teaching experience. Experience using the Canvas platform and with courses that have received Quality Matters approval is advantageous.

Salary and Benefits
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits available include health, dental, vision, life and long-term disability insurance, as well as a selection of several defined contribution retirement plans. Dependents and spouses of UNC Employees who are employed at 0.5 FTE or above are eligible for undergraduate dependent tuition grants of up to 50%. These tuition grants will cover in-state tuition charges. Further requirements may exist. Other benefits may be available based on position.
Additional Requirements and Information
Satisfactory completion of a background check, educational check, and authorization to work in the United States is required after a conditional offer of employment has been made. The successful candidate must submit original transcripts within one (1) month of hire.
