Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Associate Dean for Academic Administration and working closely with the department and Program Chairs, the Academic Department Coordinator will plan and coordinate all administrative functions for the department of Anthropology and the Digital and Computational Studies program.
- The Academic Department Coordinator will serve as a point of contact representing the department or program to internal and external constituencies
- Serve as a source of information on department/program procedures and College policies and guidelines
- The Coordinator acts as liaison between department/program and College offices (e.g., Student Records, Events office, Facilities, Deans' offices)
- Ensure that deadlines are met and all necessary paperwork completed appropriately
- The Coordinator participates in the development of annual budgets, administer approved budgets ,and other department/program-controlled funds, including monitoring and approving expenditures as well as other processes to support the department and program.
Hourly range for this position is expected to be: Minimum $20.00 - Maximum $25.00/ per hour
Education/Skills Requirements
Required:
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Applicants must possess a solid understanding and strong working knowledge of word processing (Microsoft Word, Excel) and e-mail (Outlook), Google products (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Sites), or willingness and initiative to learn new computer applications,
- Ability to organize and prioritize work tasks and accomplish them efficiently and accurately
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service skills (visitor and telephone reception)
- The ability to work independently
Preferred:
- Some college course work completed
Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents
Required:
- At least 2 years' office experience
- Subject to a criminal history background check.
Preferred:
- Experience in a higher education/academic setting
Standard Work Days and Hours
- This position is a full-time, year round position working 37.5 hours/week (0.94 FTE ), Monday through Friday from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.
