Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Data Associate.
In this role, the successful candidate full-time Research Data Associate will work with Dr. Amanda Bunting (Principal Investigator [PI]) in the Department of Population Health to carry out research-related tasks specific to Dr. Buntings NIH/NIDA funded K01 and other associated grants in the Bunting Research Lab. The Bunting Research Lab has two priority focus areas: (1) polysubstance use (primarily co-use of stimulants and opioids) and (2) substance use and health disparities of justice-involved populations. The Research Data Associate will be responsible for (1) recruitment and screening of study populations, (2) carrying out study procedures including informed consent processes, qualitative interviews, and quantitative surveys, (3) collection of urine toxicology, (4) management of participant reimbursements, and (5) participant retention and follow-up.
Job Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Associate's degree plus one year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer literate with good interpersonal, writing and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
A BA/BS in a social science or substance use related field (e.g., sociology, public health, anthropology, psychology, pre-med) or equivalent experience is preferred. Some previous research experience preferred. Candidates from diverse backgrounds and/or with lived experience are encouraged to apply.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $45,600.00 - $52,073.36 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the research study and procedures;
- Maintain high research ethics and remain up to date on institutional review board trainings;
- Oversee recruitment and screening of study populations remotely and in the field;
- Assist with the informed consent process and ensure that the subject fully understands what is required of them throughout the study;
- Collect drug specimen kits;
- Shadow the PI and/or Research Coordinator in the field;
- Complete qualitative interviews with participants;
- Assist with proofing and coding of qualitative data;
- Administer research surveys and capture data in the study's electronic data system;
- Manage and utilize participant tracking to facilitate longitudinal follow-up of participants;
- Organize and maintain research records;
- Assist the PI and Research Coordinator in carrying out all aims of the project(s);
- Participate in publications and research presentations, if interested.
