Description
The Department of Anthropology and the Program in Ethnicity, Race, and Migration at Yale University seek to hire an Assistant Professor with an initial five-year appointment in sociocultural anthropology beginning July 1, 2023. The successful applicant will have a research and teaching profile that emphasizes the study of race, ethnicity, and/or indigeneity in Latin America and/or the Caribbean. Primary appointment will be in the Department of Anthropology, with a secondary appointment in the Program in Ethnicity, Race, and Migration. Teaching (normally four courses per year) and service expectations will be divided between the two units.
Qualifications
The appointee must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree or have completed all requirements for the Ph.D. by the time of hire.
