Since its establishment in 1941, the Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Museum of Art has grown from a small university teaching collection into one of the foremost university art museums in the country. A preeminent teaching museum, the museum's internationally acclaimed collection, ranging from ancient gold jewelry and a distinguished collection of African and Oceanic Art to paintings by Claude Monet and Pablo Picasso, includes more than 45,000 objects representing nearly every art-producing culture throughout history.
The Eskenazi Museum of Art is currently undertaking a $30 million renovation of its acclaimed I. M. Pei-designed building. The newly renovated museum will be an enhanced teaching resource for Indiana University and southern Indiana. Positioning the institution as a premier teaching museum requires creative programming, experiences, and storytelling that advance its mission in powerful ways.
The Andrew W. Mellon and Anthony J. Moravec University Experiences Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of university-level experiences anchored upon the Eskenazi Museum of Art's outstanding collection of art. This position manages gallery-based college-level programming, activates new educational spaces and viewing rooms at the Eskenazi Museum of Art, and envisions and implements new and creative outreach across campus.
Masters degree in art history, fine arts, art education, adult education, museum studies, anthropology, or related field and two years of professional teaching experience in an academic environment.

Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Strong visionary abilities, leadership, conceptual, and ability to effectively communicate and exchange information. Ability to work collegially with staff, faculty, and the arts community. Demonstrated ability to supervise as well as to work successfully with others. Proven ability to handle a variety of tasks concurrently in a complex environment.
Doctoral level degree; Record of art museum teaching.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
Ability to work while standing for up to 10 hours; ability to lift 40 pounds; ability to monitor experiences and respond quickly to needs of clients, guests, and security
