We are actively seekingOn-Call Archaeological Field Techniciansin theSouthern California Area, including Los Angeles, Riverside, and Orange County.
We are also seeking monitors for ongoing, long-term projects in Blythe and Owens Valley, CA to start * immediately !

Who You Are
You are an effective team member experienced in archaeological and/or paleontological monitoring, surveys and documentation of archaeological, and/or paleontological resources in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal guidelines and requirements. You live in San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, Owens Valley, or Blythe, CA.Potential for travel to Northern California, Nevada, and Arizona.
You hold a Bachelor's degree in archaeology/anthropology/paleontology or related field and have a valid driver's license.
You are familiar with working on active construction sites, completing DPR forms and are knowledgeable of archaeological materials common to the region and have a minimum of six months of field experience or relative academic field experience in Southern California.
You have the ability to work in a wide variety of field conditions (weather, terrain, etc.) and are able to work some nights and/or weekends.
What You Will Do for ESA
ESA is looking for Variable Part Time archaeological field technicians to support field projects in Southern California. Qualified candidates can demonstrate the ability to perform all aspects of archaeological and/or paleontological monitoring and familiarity working on construction sites, coordinating with construction personnel, and interacting with Native American monitors. Successful candidates will fulfill the following duties:

- Monitor construction activities and identify archaeological and/or paleontological resources
- Effectively communicate with construction crews and project personnel
- Write and maintain written daily survey, monitoring, recordation, and cataloging logs, including utilizing electronic data collection tools and GIS mapping applications
