Job Details
The College of Idaho invites applications for a tenure-track cultural anthropologist to start in August 2023. We seek candidates who share the College’s commitment to creating an equitable and inclusive scholarly community through their teaching, mentoring, scholarly activity, and service.
We seek to hire a cultural anthropologist who can serve as a generalist. Desirable expertise include but are not limited to the following areas: diaspora studies, Latino/a studies, transnational migration, or urban anthropology. The successful candidate will engage in interdisciplinarity and high-impact teaching practices (e.g., study away, student involvement in faculty research, mentoring internships). Teaching responsibilities include courses such as Cultural Anthropology, Cultural Diversity, Anthropological Theory, and Research Methods, with additional courses to be developed in keeping with the candidate’s interests and expertise. The teaching load is 3-1-3, with a January term between the fall and spring semesters.
Qualifications
A PhD in Anthropology or a related field is required. ABD candidates will be considered. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States as of the expected hire date and throughout the date of the contract without sponsorship from The College of Idaho.
