ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OFSOCIOLOGY & ANTHROPOLOGY
Kalamazoo College invites applications for a tenure trackposition at the assistant professor level in the Anthropology andSociology Department. We invite applications from anthropologists,sociologists, or geographers with expertise in qualitative and/orquantitative research methods. The area of research is open, but aninternational focus is desired. As a blended department, allcourses blur disciplinary boundaries.
A Ph.D. is required in Anthropology, Sociology, Geography,or a related discipline (or evidence it will be completed bySeptember 1, 2023). The position also requires advising seniortheses, contributing to the College's "Shared Passages" corecurriculum (first-year, sophomore, and senior seminars), and acommitment to the liberal arts. Kalamazoo College is committed toinclusive excellence. The successful applicant will demonstrate a strongcommitment to working with students, faculty, and staff fromdiverse social, cultural, and economic backgrounds. Salary is competitive andconsistent with the level of experience. Kalamazoo College is onthe trimester system, and the teaching load is two courses pertrimester.
