Job Description:
What We're Looking For

Baylor University's Department of Anthropology within the College of Arts & Sciences is seeking a laboratory coordinator. This is a fulltime staff position with all associated expectations and benefits. The laboratory coordinator would join a growing department with interest in applied perspectives on the anthropology of health, broadly conceived. The Department continues to be active in training undergraduate students and providing them with ample research opportunities, and now supports a growing, unique PhD program (in the Anthropology of Health). In addition to supporting over 100 majors and 175 minors as well as a growing graduate program, the Department has several active research laboratories (https://www.baylor.edu/anthropology/index.php?id=942498).

What You Will Do
  • Management of research laboratories
    • Including but not limited to maintaining laboratory equipment, and research collections, maintaining inventory and purchasing supplies, training undergraduate and graduate students, and assisting faculty members and students)
  • Collaborating on faculty research programs
    • Including but not limited to grant writing, budget preparation and subsequent expenditures, and computational analyses
  • Maintaining the teaching laboratories and materials, and possibly teaching one or more laboratory course sections when necessary
  • Workload distribution will be based on departmental needs and candidate experience
