The Anthropology program at Bard College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin in Fall 2023.
The area of expertise is open, but the program is interested in broadening the program’s conceptual reach, for example by integrating indigenous studies, medical anthropology, linguistic anthropology, gender and sexuality and/or queer theory. The program also seeks candidates who have a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Responsibilities include teaching on a 2-3 course load in the candidate’s areas of specialization and required core courses in the program, supervising undergraduate senior theses, and participating in the intellectual life of the college.
Bard College is a highly selective college of liberal arts and sciences with 2000 students and is located in the Hudson Valley, 90 miles north of NYC. Qualifications
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Anthropology or related field by the start date.
