Essential Functions
The College of Arts and Sciences atUNOis inviting applications for an Office Associate in the Sociology & Anthropology Department and Women's & Gender Studies. Responsibilities are to provide administrative support to administration, faculty and staff, including special projects, office workflow, academic support, appointments, correspondence, budgets, data compilation and records control. May perform duties of a sensitive and confidential nature. Requires use of independent judgment and knowledge of the department, college and university policies. Perform a variety of duties on own responsibility under conditions where there is little opportunity for direct supervision. Will frequently assist department chairs, students, faculty, staff and the public (community, outside reviewers, parents, visitors, etc.).
Work Schedule Monday through Friday, 8:00 - 5:00
Additional Duties
Required Qualifications
A high school education or equivalent.
Two years or more of responsible administrative support experience. Ability to work with diverse groups and communities with professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
We are seeking a candidate who has previous administrative office experience, positive people skills, the ability to multi-task and is a self-starter who is highly organized. Equally important is a candidate that possesses decision/problem resolution skills that require interpretation, discretion, and judgment based on precedent or standard operating policies and procedures. Candidates who have prior experience with spreadsheets, word documents, and accounting procedures are preferable. Must be able to maintain confidentiality be culturally competent, relate to and be inclusive of faculty, staff, students and visitors, and present a positive image of the college and department.
Tasks are diversified, and will require a willingness and ability to quickly learn new systems and tasks, including web site maintenance.
