The Department of History, Anthropology, and Philosophy at Augusta University is seeking a full-time Lecturer in Anthropology to begin August 2022. The successful candidate will be able to teach introductory Biological Anthropology and Cultural Anthropology in the General Education curriculum, an upper division classes in Biological Anthropology for majors, and other upper division classes in the candidate’s areas of expertise such as Forensic Anthropology, Bioarchaeology, Osteology, Paleopathology, etc. Standard load for lecturers at Augusta University is five courses (15 hours) per semester.

The successful candidate must have: -MA, MS, or ABD (All But Dissertation) in Anthropology. -Graduate level training in biological anthropology -Demonstrated potential for teaching effectiveness with diverse student populations. Preferred qualifications include: -PhD in Anthropology -Experience teaching at the university level.

Department Marketing Statement THE DEPARTMENT: The department offers undergraduate degrees in History and Anthropology, and teaches a broad range of core science, social science, and humanities courses. It is home to a minor in Philosophy, undergraduate certificates in Health Humanities and Museum Studies, as well as a graduate certificate in Bioethics. Its spaces include an Archaeology Lab and a Biological Anthropology Lab, and is home to the Director of the Guard House Museum, an 1866 US Army Guard House situated on the historic Summerville campus.
