The Center for Health Systems Effectiveness aims to improve health care systems in Oregon and beyond by pursuing objective, credible and rigorous research with a variety of academic and policy-making partners. Please note: This position has the potential for full-time telework.
The Research Coodinator supports multiple studies on health care system changes. Current projects include research on Medicaid reform in Oregon (analyses of payment models, health equity, and support for addressing social determinants of health, among other topics) and on Medicaid system changes in the state of Washington.
The Research Coordinator will work closely with study investigators and other study team members on research support tasks, including coordination of research meetings, preparation of human-subjects' protocols for Institutional Review Board and data-use agreement applications, coordination of qualitative research interviews, and management of qualitative and other research data.
May also participate in completing background research and literature reviews, coding and analyzing qualitative interviews, preparing research reports, and other research tasks as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field; AND 1 year of relevant experience; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint plus experience working within MS Teams or a similar collaborative software environment
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Detail orientation and accountability for completing tasks
- High level of initiative with the ability to work independently
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions when dealing with unusual situations
- Exemplary communication skills with both internal and external OHSU partners plus strong writing and proofreading skills
- Bachelor's degree in a field such as sociology, anthropology, economics, statistics, or a similar field
- 1-3 years' experience in health care or social-science research setting
- Prior experience preferred in managing multiple project tasks, completing IRB and DUA applications, and using qualitative analysis software (e.g., Atlas.ti)
- Ability to conduct literature searches using PubMed or other academic research
- Familiarity with Adobe InDesign
